The White House announced a plan to improve STEM education and resources across the U.S. to prepare the country for technological advances to come.
The three-fold approach to improving collaboration in science, technology, engineering and math first starts with improving basic skills in those areas for all Americans. Next, the goal is improve access to STEM resources for new generations and to encourage young people to pursue careers in those sectors.
One of the main goals of the plan is to ensure that partnerships between communities, learners, families, and educators is improved over time. The plan for improvement in STEM was created by the National Science and Technology Council Committee on STEM Education and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
A major part of the plan also urges educators to come up with new ways to engage students in a more inspiring way, including through competitions, projects and inventions.
