USDA Invests $11M in Bringing Internet to Rural Parts of the US

As part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) “ReConnect Pilot Program,” the department is investing $11 million into improving connectivity in rural areas of the country, including in Minnesota and northern parts of Iowa.

The investment will bring e-connectivity to more than 1,000 households and 120 businesses in the area, according to the Daily News.

“This task of providing rural Americans with broadband is of the highest importance for President Trump and his Administration. We cannot leave millions of Americans out of the successes of this booming economy simply because they do not have access to the internet,” said Deputy Secretary Stephen Censky.
