Trump to Sign Executive Order to Pull Federal Government From k-12 Education

Trump is set to sign an executive order that will allow states and local educators to decide whether the federal government has “overstepped” boundaries into a state’s education plan.

As part of Trump’s plan to “return power” of schools back to state and local groups, his executive order will review regulations established under the Obama administration and will give DeVos the ability to repeal measures where the federal government has usurped authority, said officials.

The review of existing policies in education will be conducted by the Department of Education’s Regulatory Review Task Force.
