The White House Counil on Women and Girls created by Obama in 2009 is in question under the Trump administration.

Obama had created the council to monitor the impact of policy changes on women’s rights, and to work with women’s groups.

The council’s website states that “The purpose of the Council is to ensure that each of the agencies in which they’re charged takes into account the needs of women and girls in the policies they draft, the programs they create, the legislation they support and that the true purpose of our government is to ensure that in America, all things are still possible for all people.”

White House officials said that they are debating removing the council.

We want the input of the various agencies to understand the assets they have so that we make this office additive, not redundant,” said White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks, as reported by Politico.
