The Toms shoe company founded by Blake Mycoskie is launching a $5 million donation campaign to end gun violence in the U.S.

Mycoskie spoke on the impact that gun violence has on the nation and expressed how he was personally affected and moved to take action after the shootings.

The company will be reshaping its model, which currently donates a pair of shoes for every pair that is purchased, to include donations for organizations working to end gun violence. The Toms website will also redirect users to a page where they can send a postcard to their representatives to urge universal background legislation.

More than 58,000 people have already used the system to send their representatives postcards on the matter of gun violence.
