Texas Teen Founds Nonprofit to Make a Difference in Africa

At the young age of 17, Toby Nzewi of San Antonio, is the founder and CEO of The Releaf Group, a nonprofit that provides consulting services and assistance to entrepreneurs in Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda. Moved by his research on poverty, corruption, and population growth in Nigeria, Nzewi began recruiting talent for his new organization during his junior year at Cypress Woods High School. His small but impressive team is mainly composed of family members who attend institutions like MIT, Harvard, and Yale. Unsurprisingly, the young nonprofit has already amassed considerable accolades, including an invitation to speak at a TED event in Nigeria.
