Last Thursday, Texas A&M University president Michael Young announced a plan to raise $4 billion by 2020 in a campaign named “Lead By Example” that would help the university solve “real world” problems. The university is currently thriving; leaders hope to take advantage of its recent success to add to their budget for recruiting the best students as well as hiring, and keeping, top faculty. According to President Young they have already raised $1.9 billion for the campaign.
