Technology Correlated to Poor Eyesight in Children

According to new reports, children who excessively use digital devices could develop nearsightedness.

With technology becoming more prominent in classroom settings, researchers found that school-aged children who spend seven hours or more a week on computers or mobile devices tripled their risk in developing eyesight issues.

On average, children between the ages of 2 and 8 spend two to three hours per day on screens.

Children with nearsightedness are often misdiagnosed with ADHD or dyslexia as they often lose attention to complete activities.

Pediatricians and eye specialists recommend parents limit their child’s interactions with screens and encourage playing outside.
