Businessman and environmentalist Ed Bass has donated $30 million to fund a earth science project at the University of Arizona.

Located in the Sonoran Desert, the Biosphere 2 project aims to develop new ways to limit environmental change and better manage natural resources.

“I am very grateful to Mr. Bass for his generosity and for what this gift will help the University of Arizona accomplish,” he added.
