The data analyzed by The Guardian revealed several important findings, including that black residents are still being impacted the most by remaining gun violence; gun homicide rates decreased the most among black residents of the Bay Area; the decrease in violence happened as cities invested millions of dollars into their communities through public health initiatives to reduce gun violence; and gun violence dropped in areas where gentrification is happening the most, but the areas in which people moved to when displaced did not increase in violence.
