San Francisco Planning to Decrease Homeless Population

Mayor of San Francisco Ed Lee is working to combat the severe problem of homelessness within the city.

Due to the upcoming winter months, the mayor plans to open two new shelters to house 1,000 homeless individuals.

Numerous public labor departments, including the police and Public Health, will aid in the process of moving people from the streets to shelters.

“I feel people’s frustrations when we’re bringing people into the navigation centers we have running already, and they don’t seem to see things change,” said Mayor Lee on the city’s current homeless problem.

“We have to be smarter and more dedicated,” he added.
