Publix Super Market Charities Pledges $5M for Food Banks

Earlier this week Publix Super Markets Charities pledged a donation of $5 million to over 240 nonprofits in Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Among recipients are many organizations dedicated to lifting children, seniors and families out of hunger and poverty.

Publix CEO Todd Jones said that the donation is in line with its goal to help its community meets its basic needs by helping the organizations that are doing the groundwork. Organizations need funding to transfer foods to those in need.

A few of the food banks receiving funds include Harvest Hope Food Bank in South Carolina, Feedmore in Virginia, All Faiths Food Bank in Florida, and Food Bank of North Alabama.
