In an interview with the Chronicle of Philanthropy, Diana Aviv, outgoing chief executive of the organization Independent Sector, urged nonprofits to adapt to the changing needs and pressures of today’s society and economy. She recommended that nonprofits promote diversity in their staff, increase collaboration with other nonprofits and for-profit businesses, and lobby for more federal oversight to prevent charity-related fraud. A prominent nonprofit leader, Aviv will be ending her 12 years with Independent Sector to become the CEO of Feeding America.
