New Orleans African American Museum Reopens This Week

The New Orleans African American Museum reopened this week after more than six years of being shut down due to financial hardships and complications.

After new agreements however, the museum is opening this week with an exhibition entitled “Everywhere We Are, Everywhere We Go: Black Space and Geographies, which will run to the end of year.

The museum still needs a lot of work, such as buildings that need repair, but leaders are moving forward with community building efforts through its grand reopening and robust programming for the years ahead.
