The Chaldean Foundation in Michigan is planning a $30M project to create more housing units for the more than 1,100 families who are on a waitlist for permanent housing in Detroit.

Additionally, the foundation is launching a $3M project to provide services and resources for the families who are seeking help with immigration services.

The foundation predicts that more than 30,000 people will seek help from the community organization, since last year the numbers rose to nearly 26,000 people seeking immigration services from Chaldean Foundation.

The new project would help the hundreds of families that are often left waiting for months to get citizenship preparation classes and other services.

The property for the project will break ground in Spring 2018.
