Massachusetts Environmental Groups Launch Database Conservation Tool

A team of Massachusetts wildlife agencies and research institutions just released a new online database of information on different species and habitats to help local officials and conservation managers take effective action in preserving fragile ecosystems affected by climate change. Users of the new “Wildlife Climate Action Tool” can research specific species or habitats to find information on climate and non-climate (i.e. development) impacts, vulnerability assessments, and on-the-ground environmental practices. Developers hope the tool will expand to include new topics and agencies, as well as serve as a model for other states seeking to streamline conservation efforts.
