Skid Row in LA – which arguably suffers one of the densest populations of homeless individuals in the city – will soon see the establishment of a Sobering Center. The center will be open to anyone who might suffer from alcoholism and will connect individuals with further resources, such as substance abuse treatment facilities. It is the ‘first of its kind’ to open up in LA, and perhaps serve as a trailblazer for other parts of the city.

The 95,000 square foot facility will be able to accommodate a total of 8,000 visitors per year. The resource will be a dynamic improvement for the city, helping to improve health for homeless individuals and improving the safety of the downtown area.
