Lack of Qualified Early Childhood Educators an Issue Across the Country

Across the country, a lack of qualified teachers in early childhood education has motivated schools, day care centers, and education centers to take it upon themselves to develop in-house training programs.

In Denver, Colorado, the education center Mile High Early Learning launched a training program to improve the quality of teachers and assistants in the field of early education.

Experts in the field maintain that in-home caregivers too are important in creating high quality learning opportunities for children, and therefore some programs extend to train them as well.

However, stagnant wages and low compensation in the field, combined with  schools’ demands for higher qualifications is exacerbating the problem, say experts.
