The Kind Foundation announced its newest project to invest $20 million in the initiative called Empatico, which seeks to connect children from around the world through education with the goal of teaching children empathy for different cultures.

The digital learning platform is primarily tailored to elementary school learning spaces.

“One of the most critical things we need to do in society is to develop critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability for people to empathize with one another,” says one of the project founders.

The platform connects students from around the world with one another through the computer and lesson plans allow them to work on projects together with a buddy from abroad to expand their world views. The platform is free to teachers and schools as long as they have an electronic device to use it.
