Michigan is reversing the environmental agenda that across America has implemented rules to ban plastic bags. A new rule in Michigan is preventing bans on plastic bags, and prohibits additional fees for plastic bags in stores.

The new rule also applies to other containers, including bottles, cups, and other food and drink packaging.

Officials have defended the rule as “protecting businesses from having to comply with additional regulations.”

Those who oppose the rule argue that it is a step back for the protection of our environment against pollution that comes largely from plastics that end up in the ocean.
