The Impacts of a 6-year War on Syrian Children

Over 2.4 million children have become refugees since the war in Syria started in 2011 and millions have been impacted in irreversible measures, including loss of family and friends, to suffering mental and psychological hardships. At least one quarter of children in Syria are at risk of suffering severe health disorders.

More than 50 percent of the population of children in Syria is out of school, which amounts to more than 1.75 million children without access to an education.

Because most of these children are living in areas that are highly dangerous, they are at high risk of being recruited into armed groups and often living in areas with exposure to explosive weapons, as reported by Aljazeera.
