Gates Foundation Pledges $170M for Women’s Economic Leadership

The Gates Foundation has pledged $170M toward women’s economic leadership and advancement.

Leaders of the foundation announced strategic plans to promote and support gender equality through improvement of women’s participation in the economic world.

The strategy has four areas of focus, including: financial inclusion, women’s ownership of assets, opportunities in the market for women, and connection of women to other women.

The Gates Foundation will be partnering with several organizations to lead the project on gender equality and has created the project in response to deep research and consultation with expert groups around the world.
