Fourteen States Stand Up Against Trump Ban on Transgender in the Military

Fourteen states are directly opposing Trump’s ban on transgender individuals serving in the U.S. military through a joined effort.

The states filed a joint claim earlier this week against Trump’s order to ban all transgender persons from serving in the military because they supposedly “burden” the military with “tremendous medical costs.”

The claim stated that “The military has already concluded that allowing transgender individuals to serve openly is in the nation’s best interest.”

“Reinstating the ban simply cannot be justified by reference to costs, unit cohesion, or overall readiness. Rather, the Administration seeks to ban otherwise qualified people from service simply because of who they are,” the brief read.
