A feminist artist is asking other female artists to raise their prices by 15 percent to fight against the pay gap in the art world.

Artist Michele Pred is using her latest project, The Art of Equal Pay, she asks other visual artists to become a part of the movement.

“A lot of my work is about igniting conversation, but I wanted to do something more concrete,” she said. She will be raising her prices by 15 percent on Equal Pay Day, March 31.

Art Net reports that she is working with data specialists to identify exactly what the difference in pay is for males versus female artists.

So far, 15 other artists are on board to raise their prices.
