A new study published in Nature Communications found that children who receive intensive early education are more likely to treat others fairly throughout life.
Researchers from the Abecedarian Project, which is the longest running study focused on the effects of early education on children from low-income families, found that children with early education understood inequality better.
The study involved 78 participants who played games that challenged their social decision-making processes involving fairness or self-interest.
In addition to finding differences in how sensitive participants were to inequality based on early education, researchers also found differences in other social decision-making strategies, such as planning for the future.
