E-waste Leads to Environmental Hazards

Expansion of technology has created a dramatic increase in electronic waste around the globe.

In 2016 alone there were over 40 million metric tons of e-waste (electronic and electrical equipment) that ends up in dumps.

This can pose significant dangers to human health and to the environment, especially if owners of the waste are no properly recycling.

E-waste management laws currently apply to approximately 66 percent of the world’s population across 67 countries, reports VOA.

Asia, Europe and America produce the greatest amounts of e-waste, according to a recent report.
