In addition to damaging coastal areas around the globe, cliffs along the edge of California will also be harmed by rising sea levels.
According to data from the U.S. Geological Survey, it is estimated that cliffs will recede by more than 130 feet by 2100 if current sea level trends continue.
Coastal roads, cities, homes and parks could be lost to eroding cliffs, under these projections.
While daunting, the information will be useful for coastal cities that need to prepare to overcome the obstacles that will present themselves with rising sea levels.
