Climate Change Could Lead to Major Refugee Crisis

According to reports from senior military and security experts, the number of refugees fleeing countries affected by climate change over the next decade will become a huge challenge for areas in Europe.

Climate change will drive more than 10 people out of Africa, says retired US military corps brigadier general Stephen Cheney.

The report offers evidence to suggest that previously, climate change contributed to the refugee crisis in Syria through droughts that caused lack of food, water and jobs.

Furthermore, the report highlights the fact that climate change can affect even the wealthiest countries, like it did in the U.S. earlier this year.
