The Chicago Museum of Science and Industry is set to be renamed after its new donor, Ken Griffin, who is donating $125 million to the science, tech and business institution.

Board members announced the decision this week that the museum would be renamed the Kenneth C. Griffin Museum of Science and Industry.

Griffin’s donation is the largest the museum has ever received, and one of the largest single donations to the region’s cultural institutions.

“We are honored to receive this incredibly generous gift, which helps ensure that MSI remains a vital resource for science learning in the 21st century,” said Museum President and CEO, David Mosena.
