Earlier this week, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced a $9.4 million grant for the state of Kentucky, for the Kentucky Balance of State Continuum of Care, which serves a majority of the state’s smaller counties.
The Boys and Girls Club of Minnesota received a $5 million donation from the Norman Skalicky Foundation to help fund the organization’s future operations and to help continue serving children through afterschool programs and activities.
Communities can make a big difference in supporting their local nonprofits, whether it is through donating directly to the organization or by volunteering time or resources. Thousands of organizations rely on these monetary and time donations every year to make ends meet and to continue serving their communities.
Earlier this week the Moody Foundation donated $5 million to the Presidential Leadership Scholarship program, which helps diverse leadership around the country to learn from previous presidential experiences.
