A $3 million collaboration between several foundations launched this week to support news organizations across the U.S. that are dedicated to holding leaders accountable.

The campaign, entitled News Match, supports quality journalism and investigative reporting, making over 100 organizations eligible to receive grants in the amount of $28,000.

The collaboration includes the Knight Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, and the Institute for Nonprofit News, among several others.

Donations can be made at newsmatch.org and individual donations upward of $1000 will be matched by the partner foundations.

More than 24,000 jobs in newsrooms have been lost over the past two decades, reports Business Insider, so making donations to campaigns such as this one helps ensure that quality journalism remains intact and that communities have reliable sources for news.
