Three Nonprofits Reject Grants from Trump Administration

Already three nonprofit organizations have rejected funds from the Trump administration for developing educational material that challenges ‘violent extremism.’ The grants have been awarded every year, but organization leaders worry that under the new administration, the grants will now “come with strings attached” or an expectation that the material should focus primarily on radical Islamic terrorists.

Unity Productions Foundation of Potomac Fall, Virginia recently rejected the $400,000 grant to develop an educational film; prior to that, Leaders Advancing and Helping Communities in Michigan rejected a half million grant for youth programs; a third nonprofit, Ka Joog, rejected a half million grant.
