Study: Having More Children May Contribute to Climate Change

In a new study published in Environmental Research Letters, researchers say having fewer children may help fight climate change.

The research identified various ways in which individuals can reduce their carbon emission, including avoiding long flights and becoming a vegetarian.

However, the report identified having one fewer child as the best way to minimize carbon emissions.

“We recognize these are deeply personal choices.  But we can’t ignores the climate effect our lifestyle actually has,” explained researcher of the study Kimberly Nicholas.

“We are forced to confront the fact that current emission levels are really bad for the planet and human society,” she added of the findings.
