According to new studies conducted by the World Cancer Research Fund and the American Institute for Cancer Research, consuming one alcoholic drink per day increases the risk of breast cancer in women.

While previous research has indicated that consuming too much alcohol can dramatically expand one’s chances of contracting the disease, the current information released indicates that women should not drink more than one alcoholic beverage per day.

On average, premenopausal women who drink around 10 grams of alcohol every day are 5 percent more likely to develop breast cancer than those who do not consume alcoholic beverages daily.

The study also indicates that overweight or obese individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 were less likely to develop breast cancer later in life.

However, evidence has illustrated that consistent physical activity decreases one’s chances of developing any potential cancers.
