As a result from Trump’s executive order to ban refugees from seven predominantly Muslim countries, several children have been deprived of the medical care they need. For example, a four-month-old Iranian girl who is diagnosed with certain heart abnormalities was denied a visa to the U.S., even though she was in need of heart surgery. Another Iraqi child with severe facial burns resides in Michigan, but his family is still in Iraq, and his parents are concerned that the ban will prevent them from being with their son and will instead force him to return to Iraq without having his necessary surgeries completed.
