Artistic Noise began as a small effort to help young incarcerated women have an artistic outlet of expression and over the years has expanded into a number of workshops and programs that help these individuals beyond incarceration.

The program is designed to provide visual arts projects and entrepreneurial opportunities to young boys and girls who are incarcerated in New York and Boston, who might not otherwise find creative outlets and room for personal growth.

It is designed to “give kids who are silent a way to have their voices heard and their stories too,” explained co-founder and artist, Lauren Adelman.

Currently the program is vast and provides workshops in long term studio art workshops, art therapy sessions guided by certified Art Therapists, Youth Leadership Development programming that teaches participants to become advocates and mentors themselves, and finally an art, entrepreneurial and curatorial program for those seeking to pursue art as a career.
